HOME REMEDIES FOR AGE SPOTS

Brown patches on the cheeks, on the top part of arms and feet can be quite a source of embarrassment. It is due to years of excessive exposure to hot sunlight. Age spots seem like dark freckles but are normally harmless. If the spots change in size, or become darker, then a dermatologist should be consulted.


Here we list some effective home remedies for Age spots.

  • Mix Honey and yoghurt to create a bleaching agent as it helps to lighten the spots, leave it for 30 minutes and rinse with warm water.
  • Make a paste out of neem leaves and add honey in it. Apply that paste on the face and leave for 30 minutes before rinsing your face.
  • Apply lemon juice to the spots before going to bed at night and then rinse your face with warm water in the morning.
  • Rub a piece of sliced red onion on the age spots, due to its acidic property it will help to gradually lighten and fade away the spots.
  • Apply Castor oil twice daily with a cotton swab at night.
  • Mix equal amounts of onion and ginger juice and apply on the dark spots
  • Apply Aloe Vera on the brown spots and rub.
  • Limit the exposure to the sunlight. One who stays in the shades will have much less age spots than the one who is exposed to direct sunlight.
Precautions :
  • Use an Umbrella to shade yourself from the direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Drink plenty of water and eat fresh vegetables and fruits to keep the bowels working
  • Use a sun cream when going out.
